Wonderful day for the stable as our emerging star Tan Tat Brav makes his long awaited return to the track at Sandown today in Race 5 over 1000 metres. He is carrying top weight and the track looks pretty heavy, but he is a very good horse and the stable is expecting an exciting return to racing.

10th May 2010 Cape Connection Wins – All the Way at Seymour

At his fourth run back from a spell Cape Connection finally stepped up to a suitable distance over 2000 metres and led all the way to win convincingly. Jarrod Todd rode Cape Connection exceptionally well dictating the speed of the race, kicked away and the rest of the field was too tired to make up the necessary ground.

2nd May 2010 – Fantastic return from The Red Emperor at Sandown over 1200 metres

In his typical style The Red Emperor put in a fantastic gritty performance to finish a very close up 3rd over 1200 metres at Sandown. It was a huge run as his fitness is still improving and if horses tried as hard as this guy in their races, I would be a very happy man. The Red Emperor is set for an excellent preparation and looks to have genuinely improved since last time in.

The stable has 3 runners going to the races this week. All due respect makes his return at Sandown this Wednesday, whilst Cape Connection and Well Spent will be running at Moe. Both horses running at Moe are stepping up the right sort of distance and I am expecting them to run much improved races.

Thursday 15th – Electronic Cross wins at 20-1 In his first try over the mile Electronic Cross showed his liking for the Sale track once again by leading all win the 0-72 race. Wayne Davis took him to the front and he saluted by ¾ of a length, and paid $21 on the tote. Happy Days!

Easter Weekend - Exelante wins at Bairnsdale over 1000m in a tick over 58 seconds. She finally showed us some of the ability we knew she had with an impressive win in slick time. We are now looking for her to continue through the classes over the coming months.

Update in Oreilly filly section

Stop the press- STIRLING GROVE(Mossman/Kalamartra) bolts in the
Group3 Sires produce. He is related to the O’REILLY/SLIVENAMON MARIE FILLY I purchased in New Zealand.

Slievenamon Marie is half sister to Kirlington(both daughters of Sadlers Wells) Kirlington has sired stake winners Kalamata and Kirvinsky. All this is making our O’Reilly Filly more valuable even without runing
70% Sold

At Bendigo on Saturday we have Tan Tat Secret competing in the Elmore Cup. The old timer is going well at home and has an uncanny record of running well this time of year.

In race 7 we have Sharp Way which ran well at Sale last start. No luck again with the barriers, however, if he runs up to last start which he should, he will be very competitive on Saturday.

Sharp Way – Last Race Sale Today (Drawn 17)

Sharp Way is coming off long injury but has shown the stable he has talent. Unfortunately, he has drawn the outside barrier so will needs lots of luck and we are looking forward to an improved showing.

On Sunday we have a first starter called TwentySixBee which is a very nice Mossman two year old picked out by Tony at the Magic Millions sales. For those non golfers Twentysixbee is a rule in golf in skins which represent the jackpot when you get to the playoff scenario, He has matured into a very nice horse, it’s a first start so you never really know, but we think he will win races for us.

Emerging stable start The Red Emperor should be racing mid to late April, he is looking good and working very well – can’t wait until his back.

Diamond Blitz – bought in NZ as yearling to go to Hong Kong, he is a half brother to group winner in HK, paid $300K for him. The horse has had a wind operation so didn’t make it to HK, so we are running him for the first time next week. - Given the operation, we will wait and see how he performs on the track.

Planning to run next Thursday Ballarat Maiden – 25th March, 2010.

Lifeline Pals - Lightly raced in HK with some injuries so was sent back to re-co-perate in Australia. Again wait and see when he returns to racing at Ballarat over 1000 metres next Thursday.
